Review: “Suffocation- Pierced From Within”
24 March 2023Review: “Esthesis – Watching Worlds Collide”
4 April 2023I had the chance to listen to the latest album by the Turkish hard-rock band Kurtadamlar, “Electric Heart,” and I’d like to give you a brief overview of it.
Released in 2022, the album is an 8-track compilation of covers. They didn’t stick to one genre, choosing songs ranging from heavy metal legends to pop hits. Even though they didn’t confine themselves to a single genre, they maintained an 80s sound throughout the album. It feels like a bit of a melancholic album that adapts everything to that era, whether it’s a grunge song from Nirvana or a 2013 hit. Overall, the songs are heavier and darker than the originals.
From Nirvana’s “Something In The Way” to Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf,” and from Blur and Motörhead to more contemporary bands like Arctic Monkeys, the album even touches on pop and pop-rock with a couple of songs. It feels like a soundtrack for an 80s-themed serial killer/teen drama series.
